Author and Founder of Blue Handle Publishing and Book Puma Editing,

Charles D'Amico, a Metro-Detroit native, credits his mother, an educator at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s prep, for the foundational education that shaped his success.

After graduating from Ball State in 2004 with degrees in criminology and psychology, he ventured into the restaurant industry before establishing his first company, Blue Rock Consulting. Motivated by impending fatherhood, he delved into franchise ownership, starting with Jimmy John's, leveraging his prior experience in various roles there. He quickly grew to seven (now 11) locations in the first 22 months of being a business owner.

Prior to the pandemic in January 2020, he revisited his earlier passion for writing, culminating in a series of 14 novels known as "The Neil Baggio Series," exceeding a goal of 1 million words by the age of 40. It was through this process that he immersed himself into the world of editing/publishing leading him to work to solve an industry that is fragmented and leaving a large percentage of writers behind.

Blue Handle Publishing and Book Puma Editing, driven by a mission to revolutionize an industry that often neglects artists' needs. The idea of author centric publishing/editing means to serve the artist, cultivate talent, and meet people where they are at. Lowering the entry point for writers to get the help they deserve, is a core tenant of his companies.

From Father to founder to author and coach, there are many facets to Charles's life (hence Charles3hats on all socials). Learning to be present in the moment, communicate clearly, and be real with who you are and what might be holding you back are just some of the coaching topics Charles works with his clients on.
